If you look at the GOM visible its easy to see the upper trough (TUTT or Low) retrodgrading southwest deep into the Bay of Campeche. This will contribute to the expansion of the upper high from the Carribean into the Central-Eastern Gulf. The blob in the Carribean does not look like much this morning. But I suspect showers will migrate toward the Yucatan and then find more hospitable conditions in the central Gulf. Its in the central Gulf that we could possibly see a depression develop early next week. Here's the visible showing the Low diving southwest into the Bay of Campeche which should help to bring the upper high and the disturbance in the Carribean up into the central Gulf. http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/east/gmex/loop-vis.html |
