Western Gulf Of Mexico

As of this morning, the only model to take the wave south of Cuba and develop it up into the eastern Gulf is the NAM. The GFS and European don't currently show this. On the other hand, the European, the GFS, and the NAM all show some sort of tropical system forming in the far western Gulf this weekend. Then they take it north over the Texas coast. This is certainly not a done deal. Wind shear this morning across the entire Gulf Of Mexico is in the 30kt to 40kt range with some areas even above that. Fairly hostile conditions for tropical cyclones.
