Will.... Still a lot of uncertainty as to if and where anything will develop. The 18Z NAM still has a low in the western Gulf but it also has a low moving up from Cuba into the eastern Gulf. That doesn't look right, two tropical systems in the Gulf of Mexico. The 18Z GFS does not have the eastern Gulf low, but does have the low off of the Texas coast this weekend. The 12Z European has a low off of the Texas coast, similar to the GFS. So since the two major global models and the North American Model (NAM) all show tropical development in the western Gulf this weekend, it definitely needs to be watched. The shear is still high over the Gulf, 20kts to 30kts in most places.  Also, of note is that the Euro develops something around the Bahamas early next week. Lots of stuff to watch over the next several days.
