Ida magnified ....

The NHC talks about this pressure gradient creating a large swath of strong winds across the GOMEX.

A lot of us, indirectly, will get a blast of winds, regardless of Ida's final destination.

I think Ida makes the GOMEX as a Cat 1, with winds near 90-100 mph.  After that, I want to see just how fast she is racing northward before she hits the brickwall to the north.

I think the eastern panhandle is going to see the landfall, as a 60 - 70 mph TS.

BUT, the pressure gradient is going to expand the presence of high winds, not related to Ida, as far west as Morgan City, LA, and as far east as Jacksonville, FL.  I think wind gusts to near 50 mph, with sustained winds of 20-30 mph in those pressure gradient areas.

It is all getting very interesting.
