Wider view of Ida shows her being absorbed into larger non-tropical system

The NHC has mentioned the very recent blow-up that occured off the mouth of the Miss River. Before that it looked like concentrated storms near the center were falling apart, so they have opted for now to maintain the tropical storm designation. But a closer look at the wide view shows that these storms are the beginning of an east-west expansion (not consolidation) of activity. Ida is at this moment being absorbed into the larger non-tropical storm at the base of the westward moving front. She is becoming a part of this larger system and is providing energy to actually strengthen the non-tropical low pressure. Here's the sat view showing Ida becoming the new center of the non-tropical low.
