thanks Chris - the deed restriction thing is actually why I wanted to check - we have some "uber concerned" residents who seem to have little else to do but measure the height of someone's grass, etc...  Last yr during the drought this lady who had a beautiful green lawn got a letter for her grass being too tall... well, it's St Augustine grass, it's healthier & can withstand drought better when it's not mowed to the quick, ya know?  Her neighbors had dead, brown stuff, but she got the letter - go figure.  Some have already been complaining about dead landscaping, I don't plan on cutting back our plants until the frost date is past, at least.  some may need to be replaced, but many others should make it if not hacked to death.  I hope your plants spring back - good luck.

The ponds in our subdivision have tilapia that were wrongly introduced, probably by a homeowner tossing them & are now over-taking the rest of the fish that were actually stocked.  After the freeze there have been thousands of tilapia dying & having to be removed - nasty.
