Looked huge this evening. I saw it just above the horizon and since you could compare it with things on the horizon it looked huge. (Best effect here was when I was across one of our bridges in Tampa once and looked at the moon above the horizon and you could compare it's size with the tall buildings that looked small far away. It was a bit like that tonight.) I thought it looked bigger than normal even with the effect of the horizon. Went out again and now it is way up high so it looks normal again.

While I was out, I almost walked into my "pet" spider. (Can't tell you how loud I would have screamed if I had walked into it. I don't mind touching a spider, but when I don't know what something is, people across the canal would have wondered what happened.)

This little fella has been around my yard since mid December. The spider, an orb-weaver spider, builds its web each night and takes it down in the morning. It is incredible to watch it build it so fast. Then by the morning it is gone. This is the first appearance in a month which is why I thought it did not survive the freeze. (Lots of dead fish in the canal, though I did actually see three lizards today, the first time I had seen any since the freeze, and my dad caught another one in the house, so some things are making a comeback.) The spider tonight built its web in my neighbors driveway. (And it is as big as it looks, his body is probably about the size of a quarter and the legs made it seem much bigger. And, without a flash, you can't see the web, so I was lucky that a light was bright enough I could see the spider.) Last time the spider built the web across my driveway and did that many nights each night, but high enough you could walk under it. The flash makes it look white, but it is actually brownish.
