Luckily, three times is not a charm, because I probably would not have went a third time if this morning's launch was postponed. Long nights.
But it was awesome and so worth the nearly twelve hours of driving and nearly five hours of standing in the cold over the two days. I never knew you could actually feel it lift off from 12 miles away. I thought you would have to be on the Cape for that. And the clouds actually helped to make it even more spectacular. It really does light up the entire sky.
I left Tampa at 12:10AM and got there before 3AM. There was hardly anyone there while yesterday there were lots and lots of people. I was able to setup right next to the water even though I arrived nearly two hours later this morning. We had no troubles with traffic either and got home at exactly 7AM.
