According to the report, in the current active cycle 1995 to the present, the size of landfalling gulf hurricanes has increased by 35% compared to landfalling hurricanes from the last active cycle 1948-1964. If true, thats a monumental increase.
The article says that a model has now been verified which can very accurately deduce the number of tornadoes produced by a given land-falling hurricane along the gulf coast. This is based on how well the model performs with hurricanes from the past. Be interesting to see if anyone would have the cojones to use the model and make a forecast for tornado formation from a present day landfalling hurricane. |
