Re: Weather Channel Now the Movie Channel

I flipped over to the Weather Channel for a moment and saw a movie with someone getting shot with a machine gun. I thought, what the heck. Then I remembered, after I entered the channel number again, that it was Friday. That is rather ridiculous with severe weather out there. They even featured TWC on the NBC Nightly News tonight having all the severe weather out there with tornadoes and how they were covering it. Then they go out of the way to do that and then show a movie.

For the people directly affected, I think most would probably turn to local stations. Even before TWC started airing stuff from NBC Universal, they were never the place for local weather. I remember a few years ago when the late night hours repeated programming from earlier where they would repeat tornado warnings after they expired. Other than for local temperatures and the radar picture when there is not severe weather, I only turn to TWC for national weather and for times when I am not on the computer and want to check on the weather conditions around where my family lives in TN. Any time there is severe weather around me I turn to local stations. They come on the air live. And if it is even quasi severe, we have a 24 hour local news channel that will cover it live uninterrupted.

But still, TWC should at least not air movies during severe weather, especially when rather widespread.
