The Mississippi tornado reminded me ...

what we all should already know.  First, the Weather Channel was pointing just about a week ago, that this year's tornado total US-wide was at a record low, and was poised to break the record low ever recorded for total number of tornados.  Then, Saturday happened ....

You suddenly remember what Jim says, the experts say, and what we all should know.  It ONLY TAKES ONE!

If this year only produced 2 named storms, but one of the two was a Cat 5 that hits Miami dead on, do we even remember that there were only 2 named storms?  Do the people in Yazoo City, MS, even care that tornados hadn't been seen much in 2010 nationwide.

Fact is, most people across the country probably thought 1992 was some kind of busy hurricane year, due to Andrew being so catastrophic.  The REAL fact is that it was one of the slowest years in the last 30 years, numbers-wise.

I know this dead horse gets beaten a lot, but it never hurts to smack that carcass one more time.
