Re: increasingly frusted with oil spill coverage

I was mad at the TN flooding coverage over the weekend. No coverage nationally on the cable news networks except for the video of the building floating down a river and hitting the interstate. (Only TWC covered the flooding indepth.) Only today did the cable news networks start. Nashville keeps going more and more under water and that is not even the worst place hit.

The car bomb coverage has been the most over done. That was mostly non stop Sunday. The oil spill coverage has been constant, but it has not been that great. I kept hearing different things on TV about whether it has even reached shore or not. Then the media hyped something like it tripled in size in a day but doesn't go into details. (I forget which day they mentioned that.) And then they have people on to debate whether Obama failed to act quickly enough and whether this is his Katrina.

CNN did show where the spill was yesterday and today's forecast briefly, but it was one of those more cartoonish drawings that doesn't tell you much. Would be nice if they had real estimates on when it will arrive and show actual model runs. Maybe they have, but I have not tuned in to much coverage in the past two days to really judge. So many times more relevant info on this board on the oil spill than the news. Hopefully locally they are covering it properly.
