For Jimw on Oil Slick

Not the best, but I'm giving you a link to our local weather in SW La. Rob Perillo (better than average met). Click on the Storm 3 Lab to access the 5PM Central Weather for today. He gives you a better indication of where the expanding slick is (appears to be growing at a larger rate toward the SE). Short term model based on wind and current shows slick making a landfall along extreme SE La and S Miss Coast, but long term trends indicate that the slick will continue to expand toward the SE Gulf. He speaks of growing chances that the slick will be caught up in the Loop Current which would bring it toward SW Fl Coast and into the Gulf Stream rounding the S tip of Fl. Very early of course. Here's the site. It gives long local weather (about 4 minutes long). Oil slick info at about 2:30 mark in forecast.
