North Central Gulf Coast stat ...

A busy season does mean a guaranteed hit for this area.   Of the 14 seasons that had 14 storms or more, only 10 of those 14 had at least a tropical storm affect the Central Gulf Coast, from Morgan City, LA, to Panama City, FL.

The bad point is that in those 10 seasons, the following storms occurred that affected that area:

Camille, Florence, Katrina, Opal, Erin, Ivan, Dennis, Georges.

I am astonished that NOAA gave such an amped up range.  The usually conservative agency says 14-23.  It makes me wonder, at least, is this conservative?

Jim's city list on June 1st, is going to have the coastline lit up like a switchboard, I have a feeling.

I look forward to spending this season, my 11th on this board,  with each of you.
