It sucks to be scared of the sun doesn't it? Like we need another disaster to worry about because the governments will be too worried about politics and economy than shutting off transformers and taking a day off from work.
Has anyone seen the "mock documentary" history channel did some time back about solar storms and their effect on earth? It was almost comical because they totally potrayed how working governments would act.
The gist was basically turn off sensetive systems untill the CME hits or risk months without power or dont turn them off and risk it for the sake of corporations and governments making money.
Now, which do you think they'd ever choose? if the BP oil disaster is any indication, I'd say find your local drug dealer and just get yourself a "going out with a bang" box if that news ever breaks. (That is, a massive solar flare coming for earth" (one large enough to actually really damage power grids, not the ones like JAC and I are always muttering about) LOL I definitly don't trust the govt anymore to make the right descisons, considering this is all a mess in the gulf. |
