Low pressure at the surface (surface trough as described by the NHC) is sandwiched between an Upper Low to its NW and Upper High (conducive to development) in the E Gulf. Storms began to build there yesterday, and are more pronounced today. System doesn't seem to be moving very much, and unlike the Wave in the Central Atlantic this is a climatologically preferred area in June. http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/east/gmex/flash-rb.html |
