Won't go into too much detail here, email is slow and the blackout sucks.  No pictures, video, details, etc are allowed.

We are in position and will send down the ROV's this afternoon to starting streaming live video again.  Met with the viking posiden yesterday and swapped gear and people.  We are a few hundred meters and 5000 ft. from the well.

Wayyyyyyyyyyyy too many people onboard this vessel, she's a large, nice vessel, but too many chiefs and not enough indians, ya know? Some big wigs from a certain oil company came onboard yest, we have 6 lawyers coming this afternoon  and 6 more from the dept. of justice.  freaking marshals??? this is wayyyyyy beyond anything i have ever heard of on any accident I have ever consulted on!  They  will attempt to bring up parts of the riser and the DOJ says all that is "evidence"...what a buncha dumbutts.

The water does not look to horribly bad, I think the worst of the spill is moved away- since they are catching and burning a large amount of methane (30 millionft/day).  We had to all get fit tested for our respirators- just in case.  a fixed sensor system is also in place for hydrogen sulfide/benezene/toluene/sulfer dioxide, etc.....

more updates when i can, busy advising and teaching. I am so tired of meetings and more meetings- it's the old story of "who's on first, what's on second"......

watch them canes for me! I got another 2 weeks or so to go, was supposed to be a "couple" days!
