I would like to know just how big this oil reserve is and what we can expect to happen when and if the relief wells are able to pump the oil out of this reserve. How will a huge empty,or almost empty underground oil cavern be able to withstand the huge pressure exerted upon it from the waters above ? Surely the seafloor will collapse possibly causing a tsunami,or seawater will gradualy be forced into the emptied chamber,''where it does not belong''and ,well then what ? I have read that if seawater enters the oil chamber,it will be heated to the point of becoming steam and thus lead to a massive explosion, which will then lead to a tsunami.Anyway you cut it ,this is a horrificaly bad situation which is not likely to have a good end.If I were you Alligator I would seriously consider finding a new home.Even if this were not a potentionaly life threatening situation what kind of life will you and the many people along the coast are no longer able to swim, fish, boat or otherwise enjoy the Gulf ? I had to make a similar decision in 2005 following not only the strike from Katrina which took both my job and my home, but the 2004 season which caused me to loose more work days then I could afford, ruinend my fith anniversery celebration and caused me to loose two of my pet cats ! After Katrina,I knew that I could not afford to risk having to rebuild my life any more, and although I love the Gulf south,''and even the hurricanes''I decided that it was time to move on.I suspect that a lot of people will be making that decision in the comming weeks and months.I only hope that if it is nessacary to leave the region people will not waite untill it is too late. Best wishes to you gator.
