| I think there is a very good chance that this system will be upgraded sooner rather than later. Its true that indications of any llc forming have been lacking in the last 24 hours or so. But the reason for the NHC going orange in the first place has to do mainly with Upper Level Support! Sat pics show a well defined upper high over with the system sitting just to the west of the center of that feature. Outflow and ventilation, I think improved markedly overnight, even as activity at the lower levels lagged behind. Strong firing of T-Storms this morning should help to create the circulation or inflow at the surface. When this happens, I don't think we'll have to wait long at all, as everything is in place at the upper levels for a quick wind-up to depression and then storm status, probably in that familiar storm genesis area just south of Haiti. |
