Fred, there appears to be more uncertainty than yesterday. A strong upper high should maintain a very favorable upper air environment over the BOC. However, Alex is making landfall in central Belize (Got the first landfall right). The core has begun to deteriorate and cloud top's are warming do to land friction and gradual reduction of latent heat from the ocean.

Conditions will be favorable for this to intensify quickly, but the core will take a major hit as it was not very  strong/defined at landfall. This combined with a more southern track should keep the center closer to the coast (Less surface inflow). These are the only limiting factors, but if the center emerges alittle further north and the core is well distanced from land then we will have a  much stronger Alex.

I feel that slow strengthening will be in line.
