Houston Mets

Local Houston mets last night on the news had different opinions about the possibility of having a storm in the area.  Basically guy on CBS said the only effect we will get from Alex is our chance of rain goes up from 30% to 40%.

ABC at least said there will be effects from the storm itself (i.e. wind and rain) and that the models were trending north.  He said that we need to watch very carefully the next few days.

The Chron this morning basically is leaving everything up to the Sciguy who is pretty decent albeit brief.

Other online outlets are either not frequently updated or discount the storm entirely.

All this is to say I am not wishcasting Alex to come and pay us a visit here.  My son is only 6 weeks old and I can easily remember the difficulties we had after Ike a few years back and we never even got hurricane force winds here.

I wonder if there is a reason.  Maybe Ike is still too near and the local media is afraid there will be panic if they warn a storm may be coming.  I don't know.  The main question is if Alex does turn to more of a northerly route, how will Houston respond?
