Was curious to see what this week's forecast had in store for the Dallas area (where I live) this week, as Alex's track could bring a significant rain event up here just in time for July 4th weekend. Here is what mets in the Dallas area are thinking about Alex's forecast track:
THE WEATHER THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEK THROUGH THE WEEKEND WILL DEPEND ON THE TRACK OF TROPICAL STORM ALEX. THE ECMWF HAS CONSISTENTLY KEPT THE SYSTEM IN THE EXTREME WESTERN GULF BEFORE MOVING IT ON SHORE SOUTH OF BROWNSVILLE. THE LATEST RUN OF THE NAM AND GFS BOTH MOVE THE SYSTEM ON TO THE TEXAS COAST AROUND FRIDAY. WE WILL CONTINUE TO RIDE WITH THE ECMWF SOLUTION WHICH HAS HAD THE MOST RUN TO RUN CONSISTENCY AND KEEP THE WEEKEND FORECAST DRY. HOWEVER...THERE IS STILL A CHANCE THE SYSTEM COULD TRACK MORE EASTERLY WHICH WOULD BRING SOME RAIN CHANCES BACK TO NORTH TEXAS FOR THE 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND. WILL CONTINUE TO WATCH CLOSELY IN THE COMING DAYS.
