The models (and the math) say that it is inevitable, the sub-tropical ridge of high pressure is building back in from E to W along the N Gulf Coast--from Fl to Tex--which should force Alex further west. The only fly that I can see (and perhaps it is only a gnat) is that small spinning ULL or weakness along the Tex-La border which the NHC has mentioned at times in earlier advisories. Its still there. If the small localized weakness there (to the north of the system) is not being adequately picked up on by model math. Seems far-fetched. In any case--Alex continues to express a strong Northern component.
