Earl about to miss next forecast point to the NORTH

Looks like we have liftoff--Earl's gaining some serious latitude this afternoon as he curls around the periphery of the ridge that had been steering it west. He seems poised to miss the next forecast point to the north--maybe the NHC's decision to shift the official forecast track further west was a bit hasty? Did the last round of model runs initialize the storm based on the SW wobble it took overnight?
