I am not sure whether the NHC is basing the latest track on steering currents or timing. The latest update has a pretty sharp bend that I'm not totally buying.
Assuming it's currents, then good for them. The models are trending that way and that is probably where they get the latest cone.
Assuming it's timing based on the inbound front, they are playing a scare game IMHO. Basing a cone on the arrival of a front that may or may not be strong enough to clear Earl might blow up in their face.
Just postulation, now so don't freak out....
