So, under an anti-cyclone, there is no or hardly any shear.
In the tropics there are 2 types of convection:
1) TC based which needs little to no shear to flourish.
2) MCS based which is driven by shear. This is like the type of thuderstorms that pop up along a front. They usually dont last more than 12 hours.
