When there are a lot of users it probably becomes somewhat buggy. It's hard to test with just a few users. I'll have to look at the code one day now that I have an offline version running again. It could use a rewrite on parts. I made some forum updates a week or two ago to take care of a stability issue that the chat room could also probably suffer from when there are a lot of users posting at the same time.
The new jumpiness I think might be able to be adjusted a little bit. I'll look at it when I get a chance. I think it relates to the problem I fixed last night when I had to add a small delay in the time when the list updates and it auto scrolls to the bottom. I could fix it by having new things appear at the top rather than the bottom, so there is no need to scroll down, but that is not how most chat rooms flow. |
