One personal thing (and this is very non-technical)that gives me some consideration of a pattern change, the feel of the air.
No rain for the past week and a half in south Florida, northerly breezes, and low humidity makes things feel, well, almost pleasant. Not turn off the A/C pleasant, but a tease that we will be getting troughs and fronts early this year. It feels like the rainy season just quit.
Not because Skip thinks the air feels nice that is no reason to make it sound like he thinks old Matthew will come along and put his out literally underwater (to match it figurative position). Just an observation that has been wandering in my head for a few days with nothing to wrap it around.
And now this...
AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIAMI FL 718 PM EDT TUE SEP 21 2010
EXTENDED FORECAST... THE LONG RANGE MODELS SHOW THE TROPICAL DISTURBANCE MOVING WEST FROM THE CENTRAL CARIBBEAN SEA INTO THE WESTERN CARIBBEAN SEA THIS WEEKEND INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK...AS THE HIGH MOVES SLOWLY EAST INTO THE WESTERN ATLANTIC WATERS. THIS WILL KEEP THE EASTERLY WINDS IN PLACE ALONG WITH THE DEEPER TROPICAL MOISTURE IN PLACE OVER SOUTH FLORIDA THIS WEEKEND INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK. SO WILL CONTINUE THE CHANCE POPS OVER SOUTH FLORIDA THIS WEEKEND INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK WITH EASTERLY WIND AROUND 10 TO 15 MPH. HOWEVER...THE WINDS COULD BE POSSIBLE BE HIGHER THIS WEEKEND DEPENDING ON THE PRESSURE GRADIENT BETWEEN THE HIGH TO THE NORTH AND THE TROPICAL DISTURBANCE TO THE SOUTH.
FOR THE LATEST INFORMATION ON THE TROPICAL DISTURBANCE....PLEASE SEE THE LATEST TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK FROM THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER.
Hmmmm... Why do they mention that? |
