DM,
The eastern pacific monsoon trough is the focal genesis region during their hurricane season. This is normally an area of lower pressure / convergence region simular to the eastern atlantic monsoon trough which supports the formation of the cape verde season.
The Eastern Pacific trough migrates northward and the eastern portion becomes the focal point for late season development in the western carib. This is a large elongated area of low pressure.
Note: what the models are indicating is that the cyclone will draw pacific moisture from the eastern pacific likely due to its large circulation. Hope this helps!!!
