Woke up to a new cover of winter wonderland.Have not measured yet but have atleast a foot of new snow.Had thundersnow around 6:30-7pm lastnight(only 2nd time i have seen that).but forgot to set my streaming cam to record..Also,I have never seen the snow come down as hard and as fast as it did lastnight(had cam recording ,will look at it later and post best parts).According to news12 Long Island we had snow rates of 5" per hour between 1 & 2amt!!!!!!!With this snow we set a record for snow fall for the month of January,and have heard NYC set an all time monthly snowfall record for any month!!
This is not the snow that is going to be easy to shovel.It is the very wet heavy snow,with ice underneath it that fell before the change over to snow.Alot of people here are sick of the snow already,but not me im loving it,bring on more storms!!!!!! |
