Yes sort of.
I am still studying up on it.
The vertical axis is height above the surface of the eath; horizontal is frequency.
It works like radar.
The digisonde sends out frequencies at various polarizations and looks for the return intensity.
It then helps map position of the ionosphere over head.
The ionosphere changes shape during the day as the sun creates ions.
Also, geomagnetic storms change it.
I am watching the cutoff frequency and altitude when the storm hits.
