Could this super La Nina finally be weakening?

This last occurrence of La Nina has been reported to be the strongest since 1917.  Could it finally be on the wane?  Seems some signs are pointing that way...

But just to show how much we really understand the effects, this was the winter forecast from NOAA back in October

Obviously, a little off the mark with flooding rains in central and southern California and Record cold, ice and snow in the south ;)  As a met. from the NWS in Birmingham posted in the forecast discussion when they got nailed with the winter storm back in early January, "Ain't weather fun?"
