yeah the Nasa statement worries me.  In other words, its gonna get so close and because Nasa, or other scientist dont have the science down on friction when an object  gets close to the atmosphere, and basically it is an unpredictable situation.  Because of this, (in this uneducated science) there are no real measurable facts or numbers to work with and thus renders an unpredictable situation...  Hahaha, atleast that sounds good.  Seriously though that is the reason behind it.  Lets just say it was 15 feet and it did enter the atmosphere, chances are it would break apart during entry, or possibly end of with a Tunguska event which took place back in 1908.  I think if something that big actually hit the ground you would atleast have a city block taken out maybe more.  If your talking atleast football field size rocks, then your running into serious problems.

Honestly, I have to read more on Elenin to come up up with more factual claims.  I am not a scientist, its just my opinion.  It is very interesting to say the least!!..:-)
