I can't imagine the sound that would make. I heard a piece of ice fall from a glacier when I was younger and it sounded like thunder. (only it was clear skies) It was just a tiny chunk of ice, probably like a foot or two maybe. I only saw it after it was floating away.

Something this big would be incredible. I wonder if it generated a bit of a tsunami and if ground sensors picked up the vibrations as it broke off.
