Oh its nothing - the region has doing this for eons. There was one that almost leveled Montreal in the 18th century. Its in the Western Quebec Seismic zone - and the main thoughts behind it is glacial rebounding has reactivated some of the faults in that area. There is also an Eastern zone too.
