Well- they had the tsunami deposits from 829 years ago-- and they were right-- it came!
Unfortunately not where they were expecting--nor built for.
Lots of people are displaced and suffering--but it could have been much worse--earthquake and tsunami -wise--if it had hit more densely populated areas.
Hate to see that framland ruined-- they don't have much of that (can you tell the farmer girl in me is
