Voluntary evac offered to US personnel on Bases in Japan

I received an email from someone on the base in Okinawa:
Subject: FYI - Japan Evacuations

Good Morning Everyone (or Good Night, depending on when you read this)!

I just wanted to update you as to the situation here, as I understand it. I have included a map so you can see where we are in relation to mainland. As you can see, Oki is a ways away from main land and the nuclear situation that is unfolding.

(I'm not techy enough to attach!)  But it is 1100 miles away from the reactors.

Currently, they are undergoing voluntary evacuations of the mainland bases, Zama, Yokota, Yokosuka, Atsugi, and I think Misawa. They are being evacuated if they chose to do so, to Korea, CA, and Okinawa, depending on their branch of service.

There are no evacuations slated for Oki, and I think we are far enough away that it should not occur (but I guess you never know).

I hope this helps alliveate any confusion that our "always correct" news sources provide.
