The radiation safety guy at my workplace says that there is about zero likelihood of affecting us over here in the US. For people in Japan, they might start getting more cancers in about 10 years. Similar to when the US conducted blasts in the Nevada Desert. Most people probably won't die of cancers for about 50 to 60 years.
