Even if this theory has any validity then there is an abnormally broad length of high SST anomaly to avoid near 30 degrees Latitude...

Storms which may form in the Caribbean must curve North sometime, right?

If the cyclones go up the East Coast around a Bermuda High then they may have to be above average in strength to avoid getting dried up by the high SST's. They may get fried.

But if we get a big cyclone pushing through in July then others may follow through the colder SST's in its wake.
