Gulf of California rattled by second 5.0+ quake in three days

April 29, 2011 - SAN DEIGO, CA.

This is the second 5.0 + magnitude quake to strike the Gulf of California in three days.

The first quake measured a 5.6 magnitude and occurred at a depth of 24 km.

The sequence of quakes riddled along this plate line shows stresses for the Californian inland are building.
