Mobile is re-writing the record books so far this month:
June 1: Actual temp: 101, Old record: 98.
June 2: Actual temp: 98, Old record: 97.
June 3: Actual temp: 100, Old record: 98.
Today is expected to set another record, as the forecast temperature for today is 99. Each today has overshot the actual forecast temp by between 1-3 degrees. I expect another triple digit temp today, which would break the old record of 98.
If this high doesn't move soon, Mobile may just bake for a while. Also, the drought continues, with Mobile only having received about half an inch of rain since May 1 and having a total deficit for the year of nearly 20 inches. |
