Seriously? Its that large? That could be a very very bad sign... that sounds larger then Laki. Maybe we're not on the verge of a super volcano... but instead something the VEI scale doesnt really account for: a large scale flood basalt eruption... on the level of the Deccan or Siberan traps. That area is also near a triple-junction too between the SA, Nazca and Pacific Plate.
