TD Forming off Central Florida Coast

Visible imagery and surface observations indicate that 98L is developing a closed circulation. The disturbance has maintained a large convection mass near the center which is gradually becoming more symmetrical in overall structure as streamer cumulus are starting to increase around the southern portion of the system, which are signs increasing inflow.
Upper level W-NW shear have decreased 5-10kts since yesterday which should allow further organization. Although upper level winds have not improved marketly, the disturbance is in a more favorable area in respect to the center of a large upper high centered over the lower Missisippi vally.
Lastly, the oceanic heat content, deep layer moisture and decreased shear should allow this to slowly strengthen as it moves south into the Northern Bahamas. |
