Technology & following hurricanes

I was out of town this weekend in the country at my parents.  Their land line dialup internet will not stream audio or video and has a very hard time displaying photos.  When I previously attempting to use my Nokia smart phone for multimedia while there it never worked well at all.  BUT this past weekend after a number of fits and starts, I finally discovered the Ustream App for my new Android phone and it worked GREAT.  Unfortunately I did not discover that until late Saturday.  But I was able to see some of Jim & Bills broadcast.  So glad to find that my Android gets much better signal than my old  Nokia did while out in the country.

I also discovered the scanner app that allowed me to listen to the Hurricane Watch Net over my Android.

The images and links posted here at Canetalk by others also displayed very easily from my android phone.

It was so nice to be able to follow along with the other members here, while not having the comfort of my laptop or desktop at home.  I love new technology.
