Once again The NHC did a great job forecasting a storm. Their 3 day forecast was just about right on.  I dont think people really realize what goes into forecasting weather.  5 day cones really shouldnt even be made public. If your dead center in the cone 5 days out I think thats one of the safest places you could be. Believe me I live in Boynton Beach Fl and have been dead center of a 5 day cone countless times only to have the storm miss by 300 miles. Thats why they always have the disclaimer and the end of discussions about the error in the track. But as far as 3 days out they have been doing a great job. And forecasting the intensity is just as tough. Everyone gets on them for not forecasting them correctly. Its a 600 miles wide living breathing thing of nature with MANY other weather patterns around them changing by the second which in turn affect the storms track and intensity.  It really irks me when people write " I think they know something they aren't telling us"  or "cant big storms do what they want" and totally just ignore the steering weather patterns around them which have been studied for decades. The NHC are the best storms forecasters in the world. Thats why they are "The Official Forecast". I think they do a great job!
