Houston seems to buy the most plausible model solution right now as a TS meandering off of LA, before pulling either NNW or NNE.

The convection right now is further east than I thought it would be at this point and the trough off of the east coast seems to be holding wave in place where it's at.

Central Gulf region needs to watch this one, not because it will be some huge monster, but because it's a holiday weekend, and many people will be on the water.
