He's been the State Climatologist & Professor of Meteorology at Texas A&M since 2000, holds a Bachelors in Earth and Planetery Sciences, Masters and PhDs in Meteorology, all from MIT.  He actually wrote a paper against the findings by the IPCC on Himilayan glaciers melting by 2035, because when his research group looked at the data, they thought it was incorrect.  He also wrote An Inconvenient Truth: The Scientific Argument, which would be something Argosy could benefit from reading.

His column for the Houston Chronicle, Climate Abyss, is well respected. Regarding that column, he writes, "My goal is to be completely honest, fair, and intelligent in my public outreach, thereby guaranteeing that there's at least one of us."  See, he also has a sense of humor, as is evidenced in his most recent post discussing the "media buzz" surrounding the article on the drought/2020.  This guy gives him the Woody Guthrie award for a thinking blogger  :)

Texas has been on fire all year... we need this guy's intelligence & I, for one, am glad he holds the office of Texas State Climatologist.  I do wish more of our state offices would actually listen to him.
