Figuring out what to do on Alligator Point

Evacuation is a big hassle but we don't want to get trapped here if our road washes out.

High water peaked at natural high tide about 2 hours ago at a little over 4 ft, that's about 3 feet above normal.  The residual according to tides online (http://tidesonline.nos.noaa.gov/ for Apalachicola) is slowly dropping along with the tide.  Winds are down from nearly 60 mph gusting to 75, to more like 45 gusting to 55.  Pressure bottomed out at about 29.6 in Hg about 4 hours ago, but has not started to rise (ttp://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=KFLALLIG2&day=24&month=06&year=2012).

The last time our road washed out was in Dennis, and water was a good 3 or 4 feet higher than this, problem is it didn't last so long and with time the erosion of the road gets worse, even at lower water.  Dennis was a mess, I wouldn't want to be here to see something like that.

So what do y'all think?  Have we seen the worst of it for now, or is there significant risk of strengthening overnight?
