US National Weather Service Columbia South Carolina

A RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 106 DEGREES WAS SET AT COLUMBIA METRO AIRPORT SC AT 1250 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON. THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 103 SET IN 1936. ADDITIONAL STATEMENTS WILL BE ISSUED LATER THIS AFTERNOON.
