Gulf of Mexico awfully interesting today

Two swirls to watch in the GoM today--the one east of MX that Cypress mentioned seems like a goner as it nears land, but the one south of the FL panhandle is very interesting. Seems it's gathering convection as it tries to slip under a ridge just to its west. If it does succeed in getting that ridge over the top of it, it could blow up in a hurry. Inhibiting factor may be pressures--I haven't checked, but I wouldn't be surprised if pressures remain too high for development there right now.
